one day or an other...

Ok, you should know that when I say tomorrow... means that I will be some days saying to myself, tomorrow, tomorrow... Vuelva usted mañana!

But I have been quite busy trying to understand how the parliament works, and how is going to be my job. I'm just having kind of idea, but I can tell you that my colegues are really nice.

About the appartment... finally we are signing for it tomorrow... Thus, my new bible is Ikea's magazine, I am really studing how to furnish ideally an empty flat. I am sorry for Roberto Bolaño, I have to combine my reading time between Los detectives Salvajes and all those strange swedish names for beds and tables (Besta, Inge, Standford, Andras?).

Hopefully, they are going to be all of them at home, an Anno curtain and a Besta cupboard, etc. And from that day on, you are invited to try them, my flatmates have no problems with visitors, so search a date!

Little by little I am less foreigner and more bruxellois, I am attending arabic classes again, I'm trying to force myself to practice some sport, I wish I had the time and money for belly dancing classes (I miss them sooooooooooo much!), I'm going to cinema festivals, I know the streets, some bars and restaurants... in counclusion, I am the perfect guide for those wanting to discover Brussels. ;)

I miss you too much. There are 50 people from natolin here, but on són els pelmes dels meus amics de sempre? No us vindria de gust venir a viure uns, diguem, dos anys i mig aquí? Petons a tots i a totes.

So... this is life!

I have been thinking a lot about the conveniance of continuing my blog, as it was concieved as my Natolin personal diary. Finally, half of the natolinians are in Brussels, and I am still "at the edge of myself" so: here I am again!

Yesterday I took an important decision for my future life, and that is why I put the song of the Cure in my previous post. I said yes to a cool job offer, I am now one of the assistants of a Catalan MEP for the Liberal Party. I start with some fears, I always wanted to be far from political colour definitions, but I am going to learn sooooo much! And I really believe that he is a great polititian, for the curious ones you can see his website here http://www.guardansxeuropa.org/portada.php

Oh, my internet café is closing... just another new: hopefuly, I will have my appartment (with internet for sure!!!!) next month, as we are signing on tuesday. I will explain more tomorrow!

Waiting for your comments, as always...

Berta

So... this is it!

Say this is it
Don't say maybe
Don't say no
Say this is it
Don't say hold on
Don't say slow
Say this is it
Don't say next time
Don't say when
Say this is it
Don't say later
No, don't say then
Just say yes!
Do it now!
Let yourself go!
Just leap!
Don't look!
Or you'll never know
If you love it
You might really love it
If you love it
You might really love it!
Oh come on and love it!
Yeah, this is it
Don't be cautious
Don't think twice
This is it
Don't play it safe
Don't put on ice
Yeah, this is it
Don't chew it over
No don't kick it around
This is it
Don't wait and see
Don't try to work it out
Just say yes! Do it now!
Let yourself go!
Just leap! Don't look!
Or you'll never know...
If you love it
You might really love it!
So don't tell me
It could all go wrong
No don't tell me
It could all be a mess
Oh don't tell me
It could all be a waste of time
Just say oui! Si! Sim! Da! Ja! Yow! Igen! Kylla!
Just say yes!

Different versions of myself... national days!

Here you have some pictures of the recent national days, the Belgian one and the effects of the free belgian beer; the national party of Spain, for which we worked so hard, having to learn the 4 sevillanas and to dance in hypersmall dresses of faralaes; an other Spanish topic, la movida: all the campus got dressed as alaskas and almodovars, and I had a lot of fun doing the make up and the hair style! And finally, last monday, the italian party with the cat-walk... in which I was in the sexy category (semi-obliged by Tizi...). I passed such a horrible time! But apart from the 5 min of stress pretending to hide the kilos gained, it was a great night!!!

I hope that no further explanation is needed to understand which picture is what... More comming soon!

Aniversari

Princess Berta (and related topics)

The carnival in Germany
Is the best party easily

We drink, we dance, we sing our songs
We have a lot of fun
All of us try to get laid
And then we party on!

The carnival in general
Is for the beast in man
You must unleash the animal
Be as wicked as you can!

The carnival in Natolin
That also can be fun
You ladies, drink some alcohol
And then you better run!

The guys in this place might go wild
That’s what the party’s for
You ladies should have fun as well
So – please – don’t lock your door!

To our princess Berta here,
We all must raise our glass
Berta, we love your belly dance,
Berta, we love your ... beautiful costume! It’s spendlid!

By the way, my princess dear,
How is our King Bob?
How is that old bucaneer,
How is the old knob?

His head looks quite testicular
But he is really bright
His mind shines like his calvitie,
A ball of shining light!

But you prefer your prince of course
That’s obvious to see
Have good fun with Alvarro
Then have some more with me!

But I do not want to be rude
You may well rest assured
That we’ll respect your privacy
When the hangovers are cured.

Happy Birthday then, sweet princess mine
May your life last forever,
Like the carnival on river Rhine
Or the legacy of Jan de Hoop Scheffer (what the hell rhymes with forever? Dammit!)

All together: Happy birthday!

Viatget

I've just came from Gdansk, a really tinny cute city with such a history on its shoulders. We arrived on saturday, really early, found a hotel and in the way dicover that the famous canals were frozen. Ducks were walking on them, boats were stucked in the ice and some adventured men were fishing in a hole. Feeling like skimoes...

Next activity... siesta, too long: 4 hours in Morpheus arms to wake up too late for museums, shops, lunch, and sun. So first official visit was nocturne, when the city is more charming. Last try to have some cultural activity, we went to the Art Academy of Gdansk where the Stereo Total concert should take place, for free. And incredible ambience was there, cool people dressed in different characters, neon lights preceeding the fancy decoration inside. No more tickets!

We went to a bar to have a cocktail... and they didn't have the license to sell alcohol, yet. A really strange day, I wouldn't say unlucky, but full of inconveniences. And how did I feel it: as a marvellous one, happy to be outside the campus, to have a whole city to discover, and to be with the person that I wanted to be. Who cares about museums? Not me at all.

Next chronique tomorrow.

Marxo a Gdansk

From Giorgione and Dürer to Tician and Rubens".

Avui estic gamberra...

Yesterday I went to the bar just for a beer and I stood till four, I'm running out of time with my Mercosur paper (for monday!!!) but I can't concentrate. I have so many ideas for a saturday night!

But, as I obliged myself to stay infront of the computer all night... at least I update my blog.

Visit to the Parliament

I'm sick, feeling dizzy, with a wonderful headache, with the cold inside my bones. Right now, I'm wearing gloves, scarf, and a blanket on my shoulders, with the appearence of a lost vampire walking in circles inside the room.

I know is too repetitive to talk about the weather, but you can't imagine! I have been to the Patagonia in wintertime, and it was the Bahamas compared to Warsaw, those days. And we are expecting -30 º for this weekend. Great, what a party. I mean, do you remember in one of my first posts, that I was affraid of the possible minimum of -17 º ? Let me explain that at -17 is when we say: "oh, is not so cold! Lets try to have a walk."

However, today, a risky group of adventurers went to the Polish Parliament. We had a guided tour, with some surprises (like meeting the lider of the Samoobrona Party (Self-Defense Party), Andzej Lepper, and the candidate of the strogest opposition party, Donald Tusk for the Civic Platform, in the corridors of the building).

Just a little introduction about politics in this country (I'm not an expert at all!). In the last Poland's elections on 25th of September 2005, the conservative Law and Justice Party (PiS) won first place, with 26.99% of the vote, closely followed by the liberal Civic Platform (PO), with 24.6% (even if in the first round Tusk was the favourite candidate, and the PiS one the second).

PiS was set up by the Kaczynski twins, the now-a-days President Lech, controversial former Major of Warsaw, and Jaroslaw. For some days the possibility to have both in the head of the Government and State was open, quite funny taking in to the account that they are as equal as drops of water. Finally the Prime Minister is Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz. One of their propposals is to bring the death penalty back.

Both parties, PiS and PO are right-wing. Historically, the deputies sat down from left to right in the hemiscicle depending on the wing of their group. I would say that in the present situation this have been a tough task, as it is difficult to say who is more or less righ-wing.

Our friend Lepper, in the little screen of the picture, is the leader of the agrarian party, catch all and populist one, eventhough populism is something in vogue between the high personalities of this country. A lot of movement in the corridors of the Parliament.

Our first try to have hot chocolate ended up having a nice soup in a French restaurant, to recover the normal body temperature. Soupe de Poisson for me, Soupe d'Oignon for Álvaro. Mmmm... And a fantastic taxi to return, alive, to the campus.

I forgot to say... Happy new year! A disfrutar el 2006!

Christmas Cards Miami style. Redecorated house in the little havana (Jesus and Winnie the Pooh happyly together!!) and lightnened palm tree in Miami Beach.
